Bio


Max Posner is an award-winning photographer, multimedia producer, FAA Part 107 commercial drone pilot, and writer. Born in Washington D.C., he moved to Richmond, Virginia to attend Virginia Commonwealth University, graduating with a B.A. in Political Science in 2012. His work in documentary media began with 'RVA Green Space', a series he created for WRIR Richmond Independent Radio that explored underrepresented recreational infrastructure and green space in the city. From 2017-2018 he worked as an outdoor educator and backcountry guide in the Pacific Northwest. He moved to New York City in 2018 where he studied at the International Center of Photography, graduating from the Documentary Practice and Visual Journalism Program in 2019. In January of 2020, he joined the NPR Science Desk as the Multimedia Intern, editing visuals for breaking and long-form stories during the first nine months of the COVID-19 Pandemic. His personal work looks at community efforts to foster climate resiliency in addition to topics close to his heart. He is currently working in a freelance capacity.
